Sometimes you have to let things go..but when things like this are being said.. you need to address..
“It’s just a farmer pass them..” “Ugh I’m gonna be late for work” “I’m not slowing down he can get over” “I know they see me behind them” “Farming is stupid” “Tractors shouldn’t be allowed on the road” “Ugh we get behind them always around this time of the year” Those farmers are: Someone’s: Children Siblings Friend Significant other Someone’s Father Grandfather Uncle Someone’s Mother Grandmother Aunt Granddaughter.. If you don’t care about the tractor at least care for the driver..this is someone’s loved one If your late to work..think they are going to work.. If your not slowing down.. yes we can get over but most of the time… your car or truck is easier just to maneuver.. If you think we can see you…we may not be able too, normally we can’t because many impatient people like to bumper hump. very dangerous, you don’t know where we are going..Instead try backing off and when we see you and find a good place to pull of trust me we will… If you think farming is stupid, I hate to say it but I think the same about you.. ..if it wasn’t for farming, you would not only be starving..you wouldn’t have clothes on your back, by-products necessities like some medicines wouldn’t be available, by-product non necessities like makeup. by- products like alcohol or sports balls that you use to have a good time you wouldn’t have.. Yes when you think of farming you think of crops or livestock..but think beyond those plants and animals. It’s not just meat and grain..It’s beyond that..so many uses for the things we grow in agriculture.. If you think tractors shouldn’t be allowed on the road..I’m gonna say it.. you don’t need a fancy sports car that goes well over the speed limits anywhere, you don’t need those trucks with big tires that rub when you turn.. If your gonna be late for work..you probably already sped there anyway..how about leaving a little earlier.. If you get behind them every year same times..don’t you think..there is a reason..It’s harvest time.. Take a minute, reflect on how thankful you should be..but yourself in our shoes.. Praying for rain, praying for a sunny day, fixing broken equipment, praying for input cost to decrease, praying for market prices to increase, in the field from sun up to sun down or 30 days in a row.. Farming is beautiful don’t get me wrong but farming is stressful, farming is demanding, just because we are tired doesn’t mean we don’t have to get up, we’ve got crops we have to get out.. we have bills to pay just like you and you know most of our bills.. are from the products wether it be crops, vegetables, livestock ..we are producing for YOU. Thank a farmer.. Slow down, Smile.. You know the saying slow down don’t drown.. Well slow down farming makes the world go round.. I saw a meme the other day and shared on my personal facebook page that said…
“Just remember 5 years ago, you dreamed about where you are now” •••• How true that is.. Today has been a YEAR since I marked one of my dreams off the list.. Purchasing my first farm.. 5 years ago, I was just beginning my journey to start looking for a farm. Offers made, tears shed, let downs and I was almost about to take a break…but looking back now it all happened for a reason… THIS is the reason… This is for you reading, words from this is if you are going through a trial in life with obstacles that seem as if nothing is going right and no gate is open.. Remember the gate is always open…but some lead to the wrong pasture.. there is a gate meant for you.. Also remember the pasture may be green on the other side but it could also be full of weeds (negativity) or in this case obstacles..Some gates are rusty, some are shiny, some gates are bent and some are missing pieces! But remember a bent gate, can still hold the cattle in.. a bent gate has character..a bent gate also has a story to tell.. Remember your gate opening doesn’t have to be perfect, your gate opening can use some work.. Find the gate that leads you to happiness, find the gate that leads to opportunities, find a gate that’s got a story, find a gate that needs some WD-40, it’s okay to not have a perfect gate… Your story once you open that gate builds to the “perfectness” your perfections don’t have to match anyone else.. and no one is perfect even if there gate isn’t dented it could be scratched.. You do you and chase your dreams and remember believe in yourself.. you are your biggest fan and your biggest critic.. Find your gate, close gates that aren’t leading you anywhere.. some gates are hard to close but sometimes they need closed…don’t forget to latch the chain… Find your pasture and build the fences how you want them built…..fulfill your dream..one step, one post at a time… XOXO A Growers Granddaughter • • • • • #agriculture #agrowersgranddaughter #farmher #inspiration #wordsfromheart #thoughts #womeninag #womeninagriculture #farming #ag365 #farm365 #youcandohardthings #farmblog #blogger “Your life is your garden..
Your thoughts are the seeds.. If your life isn’t awesome.. You’ve been watering the weeds…” A little time in the garden this afternoon not a big haul but lots more growth after the rain… BUT it had me thinking and then I came across that quote above… So I wanted to share my thoughts.. If your watering weeds, it can be draining.. •Weeds in life•meaning negativity, meaning things that you feel your pouring thought, time, care and feelings into and not receiving back.. Nothing produces out of weeds, besides more weeds and coverage of the soil and I know sometimes in life we feel as if more coverage..(people, items, thoughts, full schedules) are better but really it can also cover you from your own happiness and lead to a lot of stress… Just like real weeds in our garden, pastures and crops take up nutrients…so can the weeds in your life.. Sometimes the negativity (figurative weeds) takes up too much time or energy, sometimes they cause a lot of emotion..and sometimes they waste time… It’s time to dig up those weeds…stop letting those “weeds” take away from you and your happiness! Plant some new seeds…and if your happy were your garden is at, let the sunshine! Overall, a pretty easy morning…Everyone behaved including us… I know hard to believe.. Minus well one.. And no it wasn’t me.. We only marked one heifer calf as a send off she is crazy… meaning we won’t be keeping her for replacement! Although we do like to keep things Lively at Lively H…. Got home, got cleaned up, and ate a late lunch. Then decided to head back out to scout some fields before checking the sheep..(lambing is near) When I realized I could’ve just saved the water and showered outside.. Look at those clouds that were rolling in… We got 1.5 inches so far this afternoon and it’s still coming down but for the most part slowing down! How much rain did you get? • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #livelyhfarms #rainisagoodthing #agriculture #farming #farmblog #blog #farmlife Todays reminder…
Sometime you have to look in between the rows, or in between the canopy…sometimes you have to look between the leaves, sometimes you have weedy patches, sometime you have to turn soil over…and sometimes your harvest may not be as bountiful as you planned… - A Growers Granddaughter …….. Not everyday is a good day.. There will be some days that are bad… Obstacles come and go.. Things don’t always go as planned.. You can’t predict the future.. But YOU CAN… See some good in the day… Think about the “bad” day and know it could be worse.. be thankful.. Reroute, and jump over the obstacles or tackle another way.. Make new plans… Make goals to look forward to in the future..chase your dreams.. And know whatever you are facing….even though things may seem unsettling or uneasy… YOU’VE GOT THSI Happy Tuesday followers! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #agriculture #lookingahead #farmblog #farming #womeninag #womeninagriculture #farmher #soybeans #ag365 #farm365 Waiting at the gate…

I’ve been a little under the weather, since this time last week.. but I’m on the mend. I will tell you all, Covid felt like it kicked my a$$, but I am thankful to be feeling better… I was also very upset because I got some of my loved ones sick.. but thankful they are feeling better as well and no one else has gotten sick! Very thankful! I hadn’t seen my sheep since last Friday…That’s crazy! I haven’t been on the farm since then either.. So that shows you I really haven’t been myself.. I’ve definitely caught up on sleep, watched more tv than I have in the past year. On that note I started “Virgin River” and finished..Ready for season 5.. By the way highly recommend.. Also almost out of most everything in the house.. So grocery shopping it is, today or tomorrow! But on the plus side, we needed to do that! We all get so caught up in things we want, but we don’t need it.. we should be thankful for the things we have.. Yesterday afternoon I took a much needed walk…The garden needs picking, well what the raccoons haven’t ate over the week The sheep well they are good here at home. My weaned lambs greeted me at the gate yesterday baaing away! My new 4 well, they seem mad, and wondering who I am! But they will have no choice but to get over it, and I am positive they will when they see what’s in the bucket.. The other flock well I haven’t seen them yet, but I’m heading there soon but they had some pretty special people watching them! I just wanted to apologize for being quiet..but I’m back… I know a lot of people are dealing with different things right now, so much going on! Just know whatever it is you will get through it, find your crowd, lean on them, take time to breathe, find your happy place…a calm place to think, take a walk and remember.. you’ll find obstacles in life everyday, how you choose to handle them is key.. Ewe (You) can’t tell me this group of lambs isn’t photogenic… I gave them the award this morning…. Happy Tuesday! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #lambs #weaninglambs #sheep #flock #hairsheep #farm #womeninag #tuesday #morningonfarm #goodmorning #agriculture Good morning followers… My bucket is almost full…(my rain gauge) Don’t judge me…I haven’t moved my weather station over here yet… Papa said they got 1.3 inches…Uncle Johan 1.5 inches Last night I stayed up past my “bedtime” Why? Because I heard the thunder… saw the lightening…. and waited on the rain… Shortly after hearing the rain, I sensed calmness and knew it was time to rest.. I slept like a baby..Slept till 8:30 which almost never happens.. This rain was an answer for some relief and growth on the farm/farms..moisture in the soil…yes we need more especially with the hot days, the soil was very dry…But if we could’ve gotten any rain.. this was the best we could’ve received….I looked at the weather forecast multiple times over the week …the fluctuation in amounts and days where we were supposed to get rain and it missed us! I’ve decided I can’t base my life on the forecast, literally..At the beginning and end of the day those things are beyond our control.. Only the man upstairs, knows what is bound to happen… Thankful the bucket is full this morning, just as my heart. I hope everyone got a good amount of rain last night! I pray there is more in the forecast, even though we cannot see it.. Happy Saturday! How are you enjoying this day? I’m heading out shortly to go work and worm the flock..and I’ll be taking you all along on next YouTube video! Stay tuned! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #bucketisfull #agriculture #rainisagoodthing #thankful #blessed #farmblog #farming #farmlife #prayingforrain #prayforfarmers #saturday #farm365 #ag365 Rain missed us again today..literally watched it blow around us..
But hoping some other farms received rain in our area! Praying we get rain tomorrow…. It’s been a busy last few weeks at Lively H…harvest, spraying, double crop..but things are finally slowing down… a little break… but that doesn’t mean we aren’t doing anything… FARMING NEVER STOPS…ALWAYS THINGS THAT NEED DONE… Today we got everything moved back to shop and bins minus the disk and tractor and also a skid steer.. Also got things ready to roll for tomorrow.. Tomorrow we will be cutting some forage for baleage unless it rains then…well…I think we will be sitting back thanking God for a blessing.. We desperately need rain.. Happy Thursday Followers • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #livelyhfarms #agriculture #farming365 #ag365 #farmlife Hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend!
We took a little pause for a couple of days around the farm…minus tending to the livestock but back and going today! Let me tell ya it was HOT.. I walked through some soybean fields this afternoon! We got 0.03 inches of rain Saturday, I am thankful for even that little amount…but we need a good rain! I watched all day rain go around us…but thankful for the rain other farmers got! We all need it, we are all in this together! Trying to be as positive as possible with you all.. but I have to be honest if we don’t get any rain here soon though things really are going to go downhill..and fast… Praying the forecast is right and it rains Friday and Saturday! On another note though since it was so hot this afternoon, I believe the beans felt a couple of drops but.. I had to remind them it was just sweat… New youtube video will be uploaded in the morning! Make sure you subscribe! @agrowersgranddaughter Hope you all had a great Tuesday! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #livelyhfarms #farmingwithpapa #followinginpapasfootsteps #youtube #youtubechannel #youtubesubscribe #kentucky #womeninag #womeninagriculture #farming #soybeans #tuesday #farm365 #agriculture #farmlife I spy with my little eye…something white..
And that white little thing you see is a flower on a soybean plant! This field was planted on May 11 May 12. Beginning flowering means soybean is at growth stage R1..This soybean plant however is closer to R2, meaning it has an open flower at one of the top nodes. This is very important, soybeans are now in the reproductive stage and will begin pod development. Rain is crucial right now for the yields of crops, corn is beginning to tassel, full season soybeans are flowering. Pray for rain this weekend! I know it’s a Holiday weekend and everyone wants cookouts outside and fireworks, and rain doesn’t allow that but also if it doesn’t rain we’ve got a serious problem on our hands. Look outside if your yard isn’t growing, or looking sick, so are our crops and pastures! The sad thing is we are in just abnormally dry conditions, and suffering already, others in the state and other states, the term drought is real! Pray for farmers! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #prayforfarmers #agriculture #prayforrain Wheat Harvest 2022….
is in the books…. Thankful for a good crop, but most of all thankful for time in the field together…The days do get very long this time of year and in the fall, and I am not going to lie sometimes it’s draining but very thankful for all the memories, thankful for learning and the experience! Thankful for the beauty that grows from the ground up! Not only, the crops growing but me as a person! This life has taught me, not everything comes easy you have to work for it, not everything is perfect, it has taught me strength, not always sweating the small things, it has improved my character.. But most of all it has showed me HAPPINESS!The farm is a place, I feel safe, I feel strong, I feel it is a place to cope..an escape…a place to clear my mind.. It’s okay to be OUTstanding in your field, literally and figuratively. The saying goes…”If you find something you love to do, you’ll never work a day in your life”, we may work, and work alot, long hours, sweat, blood, and tears but we enjoy what we do.. yes things break, yes things don’t go as planned and yes we may cuss on the shitty days,(could be on a legit shitty day-cow shit) but at the end of the day we still love this life.. Life is truly better on the farm and even better doing it beside the people I love! Family is everything to me! XOXO A Growers Granddaughter • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #livelyhfarms #farming #farmingalongsidepapa #followinginpapasfootsteps #familyfarm #kentuckyag #farmblog #wheatharvest #wheat #agriculture #farm365 Even though we didn’t get much rain yesterday every drop counts…
We got back in the wheat field today and hopefully will finish up tomorrow! Goodnight followers • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #livelyhfarms #wheatharvest #kentuckyag #kentuckyfarm Nothing says a better good morning, than birds chirping, and thunder rolling and cracking in the background! Praying for any rain we can get today… Yes we still have wheat to get out of the field today but we would and will be more grateful for the rain, to give the other crops a drink, and we will take a day off.. Pray for every farmer, believe it or not, this growing season has been extremely dry! Our crops need water to grow, gardens..our pastures need water to grow! Just like us, we are 60% water, plants are around 95%. Right now majority of our crops are starting a reproductive stage, to make the flower to make a pod, or making the tassel and silk.. Water is critical… Without rain..crops will be poor.. revenue will be lost… Not to mention without rain..no food… Remember FARMERS FEED THE WORLD…and I can ensure you that Kentucky farmers aren’t the only one facing a drought or struggling.. and also remember a lot of products you use every day, have a bi-product from what we grow… like corn used for ethanol… Did you know the oil from soybeans is used in cleaners, paint or even engine oil? Did you know crayons are a bi-product from corn? See as a consumer, you read into all the “myths”, or want to jump on bandwagon of the hate.. Why don’t you read into products to show actually, how thankful you should be for farmers and how much actually comes from part of the farm? It’s sad people are complaining about prices all the time, fuel, food, cost of living… Yes I know it sucks.. But farmers are dealing with it too, chemicals, fertilizers, fuel, and on top still trying their best to bring food to your table.. Pray for farmers all around the world! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #livelyhfarms #prayforfarmers #farmersfeedtheworld #farm #blog #agriculture #farm365 #prayforrain #kentuckyagriculture #ag365 Wheat harvest glow brought to you from the combine, products used: 7pm sunset, grease, and new face moisturizer hydraulic oil! A place I now call home, a place of new beginnings, a place I’ve dreamed of having..A place to grow crops, a place to grow a garden, a place to grow myself, a place to let the sheep roam… my first farm, a place where hard work and dedication pays off! This interview was special, but how I got it meant more! As you all know, a little over a month ago my Ag teacher/FFA advisor and Wes York passed away! This was also the same week I got asked to interview, in fact a couple days later.. A classmate/friend Camryn from high school messaged me asking if I would be interested in an interview. Camryn also works for KFB. I said yes but I asked how I got this interview. She said her boss Mr. Thornberry heard of Mr. York passing and was looking for photos, when he came across a photo at volleyball courts(see below). He asked who I was and then he looked me up and found my blog.. This is very special to me because York has impacted my life in many ways and helped me to the person I am today, even while aggravating me.. Even after he had passed he still was, and still is moving through his students! My other Ag teacher Magen Woods, read a book to us “Oh, the places you’ll go” by Dr.Seuss. I never knew how much that book would actually mean to me.. Through the ups and downs you still find yourself still going places.. My Ag teachers/FFA advisors are so special to me, I would do anything for them! They pushed me to do things I would’ve never done.. even after high school! •••••• I strive to be a leader and role model just like they were to me.. just like my parents and grandparents! Find your support system, your family and friends.. This is me saying to my followers believe in yourself, chase your dreams..It’s okay to be nervous…Let the nerves and fears push you towards your goal! It’s okay to not get everything on first try. What’s important is that you are TRYING. KFB members should’ve received Junes issue this week! I received mine yesterday! Page 16! I’ve had lots of new followers and subscribers in last couple of days. Thank you! I am very excited to continuing sharing my journey in agriculture, chasing dreams, while working along side my papa on his farm and following in his footsteps!
