Rock picking alarm came early this morning…
Hey I guess I can say I workout… yeah WORK OUTSIDE.. See what I did there.. Then off to the disk for a short bit..well because todays been…here there and everywhere.. Running around like a chicken with my head cut off..messing with drill, filling up planters, digging in the soil, moving seed truck, giving lifts, 5 min lunch picnic with papa, escorting, checking on livestock, checking wheat..yada yada yada.. Busy days always on the farm.. but no place i’d rather be.. One of those escorts included planter to my farm..yep that’s right papa started planting here today.. but anyway I’m SO happy to spend most the day with my favorite farmer..papa.. even though he said today wasn’t productive it was..but here’s to tomorrow being better… Goodnight! Lots of working today..especially the soil! Aaron disked fields here at the house..prepping to be planted tomorrow! Wahoo! Meanwhile I worked in the garden, weeding and fertilizing all the raised beds! Check out those before and after photos! Good news: Potatoes will be ready to harvest next week! Everything else is flowering! Lots to show you all soon in the garden! I’m heading to bed shortly…prepping myself for an early morning stroll.. picking up some rocks in the field before papa comes to plant! Then off to disking I go!  I was in the wheat field yesterday afternoon ..just walking around and staging the wheat! Stay tuned for video!
But for now.. I think everyone needs a little smile or laughter.. We are gonna do something a little different…interactive blog/post, I haven’t done one in awhile… I want to know random things about you.. Could be something weird you do.. like a crazy food combo, or something in your routine your unsure of why you do but you do! Kind of like an icebreaker challenge.. I’ll start.. with a couple of examples.. mine will deal with food, because why not..here we go.. My name is Catlin, or as you know “A Growers Granddaughter” •I like putting Yum Yum sauce on my salad when going to a Japanese restaurant instead of the ginger dressing..(yeah i know not healthy who cares) •If I eat chocolate chip cookie dough raw, I pick out chocolate chips and don’t eat them… •I like ketchup on my scrabbled eggs… •I love an extra fatty ribeye…the best! •I like reese’s to be cold, I eat edges first..save the middle for last Judgement free zone this is just for laughter..  WHEN that one crazy cow has a calf… shew so crazy and a b****! In fact she doesn’t even have a number because…she’s legit that crazy! BUT we keep her because she’s a beautiful cow that raises great calves, and because she makes things interesting! Today she had this heifer calf, and yes I was BRAVE AND made sure she was occupied when I went over to calf! The calf is beautiful but Papa said we can’t keep her for a replacement heifer when it comes time to wean…because we don’t need two crazies! Her genes are strong! When it comes to crazy cows and especially crazy momma cows, you gotta think quick, keep your guard up…and never ever turn your back on them…because they will get you… There’s always one in every….herd..
