Literally was so excited to pick the first cantaloupe out of the garden today. Checked to see if it was ripe, I've always been told if the cantaloupe smells sweet it means its ready to be picked or if we got one from the grocery my mom always used to flick the cantaloupe for a hollow sound, and then it was added to the cart. As soon as I got inside of course I went ahead and cut the cantaloupe open and of course had to eat some. It was delicious. Cannot wait to pick the others...

Here recently you can
catch Aaron, rollin' bales of course.. Getting all the hay cut, raked, baled and stored for the winter, so the cows will be happy;) This afternoon was spent putting up a weather station. Thanks to Aaron, I now have a weather station at the house and he put it up this afternoon. You may ask...Why a weather station? Well here's the thing almost everyday we check the weather to see what's going on that day, or we look at it for the week. The weather basically predicts what we do during our work week, or helps us organizes our priorities, like for instance things that need to be done before rain. With this weather station, we are able to know more accurate details about the weather, in our exact location, more precise;) This weather station provides us with the following information daily: Weather Forecast Temperature- Indoor and Outdoor Humidity- Indoor and Outdoor Wind Speed- Average and Peak Wind Direction Rainfall Barometric Pressure And most importantly being able to monitor the weather and have data collected each day. Lots going on this week around Lively H, including wrapping up the planting of double crop beans! Had about 600 acres that needed planted, As of today, about 375 acres left!
Produce is growing like crazy!
This week in this garden: Cantaloupe I cannot wait to pick in a few weeks Random Question: Have you ever tried Salt on Cantaloupe?! Thankful the rain held off yesterday
afternoon for the boys to finish cutting. Today they get to enjoy a day off, it’s been awhile. Tomorrow, they will be planting double crop beans, bailing straw, and more. Today’s a day of celebration for those men and women who served our country fought and even died for our freedom. So thankful for those who still fight for our country today. Their braveness, allowed us to have many opportunities such as farming, Proud to be an American❤️ Happy Independence Day! May your day be full of family time, good food, fireworks and more, but let’s not forget the meaning of the day, take a minute or two and thank those who still serve and served our country today and our freedom. Most importantly the birth of our nation which we call home! Same field, different view.
