Fingers crossed there will be no more frost.. Squash are in the ground
I planted a varitiety of squash. Two that many are familiar with summer squash(yellow squash), and zuchinni squash. I wanted to to bring back a little piece of her family history by growing gem squash, as well as something new for everyone to try. Stay tuned for awesome recipes for gem squash and even zuchinni and summer squash. Take a nice stroll at The Arboretum, enjoy the beautiful flowers and take advantage of all the fresh produce grown by students in Mabel's Garden.

My plot #8

This is a photo of before I planted, notice the straw on top.
Reason- To keep moisture in soil underneath, as well as reduce the amount of weeds that come up. Notice there are a couple of weeds in there, BUT I took care of that, with one pull.

I took to show location of which seed was where, there were 5 seeds of each type of squash planted, notice Zuchinni is in front half of plot, then yellow summer squash in middle of plot, and then gem squash.

I took this photo to show the temporary barrier/divider until plants germinate.
