Hello rain
.... and you know we were hoping you would hold off until tomorrow but we are thankful for the drops you gave us this afternoon! we were just wrapping up wheat harvest, but that's okay...have a little less than 50 acres left! on our way out we checked some full season soybeans , this field is around R1 with pretty purple flowers! here's to hoping tomorrow's rain comes at a nice steady pace, crops and gardens to get a nice drink, creeks to be filled, and the dirt roads, gravel and soil to be replenished and not so dusty. happy wednesday! xoxo A Growers Granddaughter

A weekend full of wheat harvest!
Today Papa and Aaron dreamed teamed it! Uncle Johan was busy spraying soybean fields! I cut with the old faithful 9600 and boy does she run like a dream, I think I actually prefer her over the 9650 well minus not having the contour master on head! It helps a lot with ditches! The amish will be by tomorrow to bale the straw! They are baling some of our small fields! I will finish the field I was on tomorrow after work since I filled all the trucks I had today! Harvey and big Aaron trucked until port closed before lunch and we have them all loaded again and ready for them in the morning! This afternoon since I finished what I could! I was able to ride with papa in tractor on his rounds with the grain cart! Heading to shop now, calling it a night! Hope you all have a great weekend! XOXO A Growers Granddaughter Another late night, but had a late start today, with a couple minor breaks and problems!
Back at it again in the morning! Sunrise to Sunset! Which do you prefer watching, sunrise or sunset? A dirty windshield photo but so glad to be back in the field again after the big rain we got Monday!
After work, I headed to meet everyone in the field and start combining! but first went and got everyone food... any guesses on what we had? ....yup, pizza hut and of course sonic drinks! I'm telling you it's the go to around here! We just finished up fo the night just short of 9:30, all trucks are full and I broke a belt just before, while Papa and Aaron finished up! The boys will. be back at it at 7 in the morning, greasing and fueling up, delivering trucks and spraying..and I'll join up with them later in the afternoon! Wheat harvest is almost halfway through! We need about 5 more good full running days to finish maybe less! you could say Papa is pleased with how harvest is going so far! I'm hitting the hay shortly...goodnight XOXO A Growers Granddaughter Normally that sunset doesn't tell us to call it a day here at Lively H but tonight it does!
All trucks are full and ready to be hauled off in the morning! Looking like rain tomorrow but pushed back until late afternoon, so we may be able to cut, fingers crossed! |
