I know papa does in his coffee! And boy, he doesn’t go anywhere without a cup of coffee and a thermos!
So I decided to try to grow Stevia which is a natural sweetener! I used to go out in granny’s garden to the mint she was growing and grab a leaf and I still do! She has it just off her porch! Now I find myself going to pull of a Stevia leaf! Hoping to grow and use this natural sweetener in teas and coffee and make extract-powder and liquid to be able to use in recipes instead of sugar! Especially for those in our family who have diabetes! Who has tried or uses Stevia? • • • • • #agriculture#growing#gardening#steviaplants#agrowersgranddaughter #freshfromthegarden #garden

Sun is shining, taking a look at granny’s herbs this morning and so thankful I got her green thumb! Hah! Sorry Mom!
Granny has this just off her porch, she loves to cook. Parsley and chives are used alot in her dishes! Her flower garden is superb and her love for gardening is admirable! She loves fresh flowers in her house too! Although her garden is a bit different here then in Africa. Here are some of her favorites from each! Her favorite tree is a Dogwood and Boabab. Her favorite flowers are Sweet Pea, Flame Lily, Tulips, Carnations! Her favorite fruit to grow is m Mulberries, Loquats! It inspires me to try and grow different things here, especially things my family grew up with! Some may fail but I would love to try and bring new food and flavors around. It started with Gem Squash and continues from here! Happy Saturday! • • • • • #agrowersgranddaughter #greenthumb #gardening365 #gardening #gardentime #gardenfresh #saturday #herbs Who likes spaghetti squash?
I know I do! Granny always since I was little has made me eat my veggies and always had at least two on the table with lunch and dinner! She still does to this day! Goal for myself is cook at as good as my granny! For me a little butter and salt and pepper goes along way and it's delicious! Stay tuned more squash recipes hitting the website soon! Spent some time in the garden this morning picking tomatoes before the rain!
I've also been potting more things, and planting more kale... yes more, I've been making kale chips like crazy. (Recipe coming soon) But I also checked out my cucumbers. This year I tried growing different varieties than normal! You all know I love trying to grow different varieties of vegetables and fruit or unique! I also made a trellis out of a couple of t-post and a cattle panel, where my sugar snap peas, cow peas and cucumbers climb! In the past years I've let cucumbers grow on ground, but I think this trellis is the way to go! Have a great Thursday! Did some picking this afternoon, very obvious I haven't picked since Thursday night because of wheat harvest, but I still watered every night!
Look at those zucchini! Happy Monday! Slowly but surely garden is getting planted, with rain coming in tomorrow it will probably be on a halt getting thing in the ground until Sunday!
This afternoons planting accomplishments:
Happy Friday! By the way local folks... Akridge in Eddyville, has multi color tomato cages (yellow, blue, green, red) and were on sale. Shop local!
